Do you know who is the birth-star of puranic god Krishna? She is Rohini. 4th of the 27 lunar mansion, but most favourite wife of Chandra the moon god. She is fond of fine dress, luxury and beauty. Hence our #Kalighat painter adorns her with a red saree that represents luxury, royalty and brilliance. Astrologically she is imagined on a cart driven by a pair of bull that symbolises her power of bestowing fertility. Here the snake is a symbol of exuberant fertility that carries the goddess. The broomstick in her right hand signifies her association with cleanliness while the left hand bestows growth and creation. We cannot blame Chandra for showing favouritism towards this beautiful daughter of King Daksha. series #birthstar #Kalighatpainting
